"Afterglow" light bulbs glow in the dark

Lighting company American Environmental Products has come up with a novel product: the glow-in-the-dark lightbulb. The company's Glow-Lux emergency lights work like normal fluorescent bulbs (albeit very expensive ones) when they're on. When the power goes out, the bulbs glow green, thanks to a phosphorescent coating. The bulbs, which cost five times as much as conventional fluorescent bulbs, are designed for emergency use like post-blackout illumination, but we're counting on them to light up our flocked velvet day-glo posters next time we have a party.
