Vulcan backed Digeo hires ex-Sony exec

Mike Fidler, former senior VP of Sony's Home Products Division, was just hired on to Digeo, Inc as the new CEO. Digeo provides media center platforms to cable companies throughout the United States and is backed by one of Paul Allen's companies, Vulcan, Inc. Fidler was instrumental at Sony for leading the division that designs and manufactures HDTV and analog television sets as well as other home audio and video products.

According to Digeo, their Moxi Media Center product is the most widely deployed media center product adopted by the cable industry. Moxi (hey, that rhymes with Droxy!) provides HDTV cable recording at all of the common ED and HD resolutions. Other features include 15 minute jumps in recorded programs and native-passthrough modes that switch automatically from standard to high definition outputs.
