Sony to ship 8X dual-layer DVD burners

Now that dual-layer DVD burners have become commodity items, about the only way to distinguish new models is with improved burn speed. So, it's not surprising that Sony's announced two new 8X dual-layer burners. The DRX-810 series will be able to burn to dual-layer DVD+R discs at 8X, and to DVD-R discs at 4X. The DRU-810A internal drive is expected to sell for $100, while DRX-810UL external version will go for $150.
