Aug. 20: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching and why: If you're a Lord of the Rings fan, you won't have a better chance to see "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" and its New Zealand scenery in all of its high-def glory on TV than you will tonight (or at least not until the HDTV DVDs start appearing). You can watch it at 8 Eastern on TNT-HD. If you're a soccer fan, HDNet has the San Jose Earthquakes facing the Real Salt Lake at 9:30 p.m.
