Universal launching MoveU Mobile

Universal Music Group just announced that they're partnering with SingleTouch Interactive on a new cellphone service called MoveU Mobile that'll let users download the music-themed stuff to their phones like ringtones, wallpapers, music clips, and other mobile content that hardly anybody actually seems willing to pay for. Like most
MVNOs here in the US, they're leasing network capacity from Sprint, and reportedly the first handsets will come from Samsung and/or LG and cost somewhere around a $100 or $150 (if you've been waiting for a 50 Cent cellphone, there's talk of introducing phones branded to specific artists). It's hard to imagine anyone signing up for a wireless music download service that only offered access to one label's roster of artists, but it doesn't sound like they're in any hurry to offer a proper download service anyway. Universal says that they're, "not obligated at this time to provide full-length tracks for download,"
and that they're going to wait until they can lock down all the DRM stuff first. Awesome.
