Emergica picks Broadstream for IPTV

IPTV is slowly gaining momentum; today a Denver, Colorado-based provider announced a deal to support TV over broadband. Emergica, a triple-play provider offering VoIP, broadband services and IPTV worked a deal with Broadstream to deliver over 200 channels via IPTV.

Emergica expects to offer IPTV to over 5,000 customers by the end of 2005 through their "Emergica LightCast" service. With the Broadstream deal, Emergica will not only offer HDTV, but also Video on Demand and Digital Video Recording (DVR) services to their customer base. Other than Verizon in my area, I haven't heard anything about IPTV yet. Is anyone getting information in their area, and if so, how do the offerings sound so far?
