Sony announces Bravia line of HDTVs
Continuing their efforts to regain lost market share, Sony announced a new line of LCD HDTV sets
called "Bravia". Sony will intro five different LCDs in the line,
ranging from 26- to 40-inches in size. No additional details on the Bravia line are available other the definition of Bravia, which stands for "Best Resolution Audio Video Integrated Architecture."
Once the leader in the worldwide television market, Sony is attempting a turnaround to compete with up-and-coming HDTV manufacturers such as Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic and LG. Today's Bravia announcement comes on the heels of last week's SXRD-series news.
Will a new product line help Sony compete or is there more to do?
Without any idea of what the new line offers, it's difficult to say just yet, but we'll be watching.
