HDTV wireless via Ultra Wideband
Picture this. One "cable" set up of all your multimedia components. No, we are not talking about HDMI here, but rather just a power cord.
Today at the DisplaySearch HDTV Conference 2005, ADI / Pulse~LINK is demonstrating wireless HDTV via Ultra Wideband (UWB) and a new compression format. The throughput with UWB and JPEG2000 allows for near gigabit speeds wirelessly. This new format, along with UWB, would allow consumers to plug in anything from a Blu-Ray DVD player to a multimedia PC to just power. The connection is done wirelessly. That's it. No cables, no nothing.
