HDTV lineup announced from Sky
Maybe this news will cheer up those unhappy GMB folks in the U.K. we mentioned this morning. A British-based satellite service, Sky, announced their HDTV lineup for 2006. Subscribers can look forward to Sky One, the Sky Sports channel, two Sky Movie channels and a Sky Box Office channel. Sky will also offer high-def presentations of footie matches and rugby. Now we can cross off a "post with the word footie" from our to-do list.
Rumors still abound on the Sky+ HD receiver that allegedly will have a 400GB hard drive for high-definition recording. We gotta ask: with just a few HD channels, why would you need a 400 gig'r? Sure the high-def programming requires a ton of storage, but new HD channels typically have a limited amount of fresh content out of the gate.
