Sponsor a duck, win a PDP

We're not sure how rubber ducks tie in with plasma HDTVs, but the folks in Peoria, Illinois might be able to tell you. This weekend is the 17th annual "Sponsor A Duck" race to help benefit The Center for Prevention of Abuse; the fastest duck in the race will bring home a PDP HDTV. You've got a 1 in roughly 15,000 chance of winning since that's about how many ducks will take the plunge for a good cause at five dollars per duck.

We haven't seen a waterproof PDP in the works yet, but this might be a good reason to start developing one. Can you imagine telling your friends that your PDP set cost you only $5? Are HDTV prices dropping so much that we'll start to see more and more them as promotional prizes?
