Controllers? We don't need no stinkin' controllers.

While the controller camps within upcoming consoles of choice debate the size, shape, weight, functions and color of the upcoming controllers, genius-types around the country are pushing levels beyond the EyeToy for future interaction with games and other machines.  The Eye-Toy on roids implementation, a la Minority Report, involves gestures in 3-d space to impact virtual worlds.  The project,
G-Speak Gestural Technology (check it out here), is underway at MIT. 
Another project, hubbed at USC-Cinema, involves wired and wireless engagement in 3D space you can witness
here.  These kinds of innovations will take us out of the living room to play games, mixing the virutal and real worlds in even more compelling ways.  Excellent.
