"Brilliant" wristband matches patients with meds

We've heard enough horror stories about hospital patients being given the wrong meds that we're ready to snap up the prototype Brilliant medicine-dispensing system designed by grad student Claire Dunne. The system works by using chips embedded in medicine bottles to match data stored in a wristband worn by a patient. If the wrong drug is in the jar —
or if it's already been dispensed — the wristband issues an alert. Of course, this won't stop careless hospital personnel from ignoring the wristband's advice, or failing to check with it in the first place, but it's a step in the right direction.
