Sony's TV domination slipping
There was a time that Sony was the best in the TV market. Lead by the venerable Trinitron tube that revolutioned CRT technology, they dominated the TV market for years. There was a time when Sony had 50% of the tube TV market and 20% of the overall TVs sold. Times are about to change though as Sony has been slow to adapt new technology in their TVs.
This has to be like deja-vu with Sony. They failed to see the importance of MP3s in the late 90s and lost that market years ago to Apple and their iPod. We understand that Sony still makes some of the best tubes on the market, but can their new Bravia line stand up to Sharps Aquos line? They are not even competing in the plasma market anymore. They are going to end up just like Zenith if they do not do something fast.
