Sony Bravia goes to the wrong person

This is the weekend of the NACAR Nextel Cup race that Sony is sponsoring. The "Sony 500 HD" is set for California Speedway in Fontana on Sunday afternoon. Luckily, Texas Instruments isn't sponsoring their DLP car until next season; what an embarrassment it would be if the DLP vehicle won the Sony-sponsored race!

As the primary race sponsor, Sony is touting that the event will be broadcast in high-definition on NBC. Having watched all of the HD races this year, I definitely recommend taking a few minutes to catch the action. Next to being at the race, the high-def coverage is the best way to experience it.

Sony is also giving away a new high-def BRAVIA LCD set: to the winner of the race! Yo, Sony: like these guys need a free high-def set? With some races paying over a million dollars to the winner, was this the best choice for your promotion? I think you goofed big time on this. Providing a set to a lucky FAN would have been the better choice.
