HDNet coverage of Katrina devastation
I've specifically tried not to watch too much news coverage of the catastrophic devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Believe me; I don't need to see the tragedy to have my heart and wallet open up for my fellow citizens. I'm sure the coverage is even worse than I can picture in my head.
I may sit down for a bit tonight and tune in to HDNet, however. Tonight at 8:00 p.m. (ET), HDNet is airing a special report entitled "The Devastation on the Gulf Coast." The documentary-style airing will be shown in 1080i and will focus on both the rescues and the tragedy caught on film.
I expect that the program will have a profound effect on me, as the reality in high-definition is bound to have a greater impact than the standard-definition coverage I've witnessed. If you have the opportunity to catch the program with me, please do. Be sure to come back and share your thoughts if the HD coverage impacted you any more or less as well.
