Win an HDTV from ESPN

I swear I should be in charge of any HDTV contests going forward. Last week it was Sony giving an HDTV to the winning driver of the NASCAR race. It happened to be Kyle Busch, who pocketed over $241,000 for the win. I don't think he needed the free television worth two grand, do you?

This week it's ESPN who is giving away 100 high-definition television sets. Sounds great, right? Here's the (dumb) catch: you have to see the secret codeword that appears on a high-def ESPN broadcast and register on-line with the codeword. Let me reiterate the important part of the contest, "the codeword that appears on a high-def ESPN broadcast."

C'mon guys, can't you do better for the folks that don't have an HD set? You can broadcast different commercials between your SD and HD broadcasts, so why not put the codeword out there for the SD viewers? Aren't they the ones you're trying to win over to your high-def channels?
