World Cup selling more HD sets than NFL football?

We already know that most diehard football fans either have an HD set or are going in hock to get one before the season. Anyone who has watched an NFL game in high-def understands exactly why. You just can't beat the stark contrast between each player and the field; it's simply hard to describe and needs to be experienced.

Could it be that the "other football", namely World Cup soccer will sell more HD sets? This year's World Cup is taking place in Germany and the largest pay TV operator in that country is carrying all of the matches in high-def. Premiere has 3.5 million subscribers in Germany and indicated that a large percentage of them plan to have an HD set in time for the event.

Are you purchasing an HD set mainly for football? Heck, how about buying one for the World Cup?
