Katrina affects DTV legislation
Not just wrecking havoc with lives, jobs, property and more, the recent storm has kicked expected DTV legislation out the window too. In the big picture, this impact is nothing compared to the real devastation that Katrina has caused. Government officials are wisely concentrating on the appropriate priorities and shifting non-essential legislative items further on the calendar.
The House and Senate were expected to pass DTV legislation by September 16th due to budgetary concerns, but clearly that will not happen now. Regardless of our love for HDTV, the well being of our fellow citizens is far and away more important. Kudos to the feds for setting the right priority here.
