Sharp drops prices, may exit RPTV market

Two interesting developments are coming from Sharp; one good and one bad. Here's the good news: Sharp has dropped prices across their LCD line this month. Prices reflect a discount of 19% to 26% from original prices.

Now for the not so good news: Sharp may be exiting from the rear-projection HDTV market due to intense competition from LCD and PDP sales. Kind of makes sense to me if you're selling LCDs like hotcakes; you're only hurting your own RPTV market.
