Mattel releases Vidster camcorder for kids

Since it's never too early to start working on your application tape for UCLA's School of Film, Mattel has released a kid-friendly camcorder known as the Vidster. Mattel's customer service hotline must have been lighting up with parents furious over their destroyed XL1s, which is why the pistol-gripped Vidster is made of rugged plastic and at
$80, won't break the bank if it's run-over by a Hot Wheels. The features here are pretty much what we'd expect from a sub-$100 video cam: 320 x 240 resolution (VGA is so overrated), 15 fps (yikes!), 32MB built in memory
(expandable to 512MB via SD) and what we think is a 2x digital zoom. And because none of this does much good without the ability to edit, Mattel also includes a simple version of muveeTechnologies' autoProducer 3.5.
