Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 reviewed

There once was a time when buying a sub-compact digicam meant sacrificing megapixels for milligrams. You still won't get digital SLR-quality out of a point-and-shoot, but newer cameras such as Konica Minolta's
8 megapixel DiMAGE X1, much like Sean Penn, manage to pack a mean punch despite their tiny frames. Steve's Digicam offers one of the first in-depth reviews of the X1, and although they are generally pleased with its size and features, they find image quality and shooting performance to be lacking. The X1 really shines when it comes to capturing video, where its Anti-Shake technology and ability to zoom while recording audio set it apart from other models in its class. However, since this feature is rarely used by most consumers, and because of long startup times, shutter lag, and perceptible image noise, Steve and Co. recommend trying other sub-compacts before settling on the X1.
