Acer throws down C200 Tablet PC and plans to enter US LCD TV market

Acer's double fisting with their one-two announcement of the C200 Tablet PC and their first LCD TV bound for the US
market. The C200 is built on the Sonoma platform, and its claim to fame is the inclusion of a pop-up hinge instead of the traditional rotating screen design. The LCD screen slides up off the keyboard to complete the transition from tablet mode to a traditional notebook. The C200 is also doing biometric security via built-in thumbprint reader, an integrated pointing stick (no trackpad), and a 12.1-inch LCD screen. It'll be out by the end of the year in the States for an unspecified price. In the other hands, Acer holds a 37-inch LCD TV with built-in media adapter bound for U.S.
markets by 2006, if not before. The AT3705W-MGW rocks 1920 x 1080 resolution, promising true 1080i performance. Acer currently sells LCD TVs to our northern neighbors in Canada, but this'll be the first time they're busting into the U.S. market with these babies.
