Microsoft to consider Xbox 360 price cuts - every year

Now this is good news for those with the self-control to wait indefinitely. Corporate Vice President of the Xbox Product Group (wow, what a long title) Todd Holmdahl has stated, in a discussion with Reuters, "[they] will wind up cost-reducing the product every year."

A price cut alongside the Sony's release of the PlayStation 3 seemed more than likely (or some kind of bundle deal with Halo 3), but an annual reduction? I could not imagine even a giant piggy bank like Microsoft would be this ridiculous, even at $50 a year (by 2011, you can have your Xbox 360 for
free!). Of course, nothing is set in stone, this just talk, but does anyone believe that Microsoft would commit to such a deal?
