Dish 921 HD software upgrade available

It's always concerning when a software upgrade jumps like a bunch of numbers, but that's the case with the latest software upgrade for the Dish 921 HD receiver. The last version was 2.19; prior to that was 2.18. This time around it's version 2.70? I would have guessed 2.20, but I'm a logical kind of guy.

There doesn't appear to be much in this upgrade according to a forum over at DBSTalk. Here's the skinny on the thin list of release notes:

  • Low level system changes
  • Fix for 4x FF trick modes acting like a skip ahead
  • Blacked-out event pop-up message changes

Nothing earth-shattering here, but there aren't any reported problems either. If you want to speed up the spooled software update, just shut your 921 receiver off before bed. I'll be getting one of these HD \ PVR units in a few weeks; I wonder what software version it will have?
