FiOS from Verizon to carry 330 channels

Why we're getting this information from a UK site is beyond us, but we're not picky. Verizon's FiOS television service here in the US is expected to carry a jaw-dropping 330 channels.
Twenty HDTV channels will be offered as well as several thousand video-on-demand programs. No word if the VODs will be available in high-def.

If this information is accurate, the cable and satellite provides should be quaking in their boots. I don't think either of those industries really has the bandwidth to compete with Verizon's offerings. One thing is for sure: we're going to need PVRs with a good terabyte or two for that many channels.
