Sept. 23: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching:
I don't believe it. I opened up the door to those "Joey" comments last night and nobody took me up on it. You folks must be glued to your HD
sets; that's OK, so are we.

It's another 10 hours of network prime time HDTV is on tap for tonight; that makes a whopping 61.5 hours this week!
It would have been more, but ABC is conspicuously absent tonight. That's the second night in a row they didn't show up to the HD dance floor.

After the jump is my personal lineup followed by our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night. Since it continues to be such a big week for HDTV, drop us a comment and let us know what you're watching!

 My planned lineup:

  • "Ghost Whisperer" at 8:00 p.m. on CBS (1080i). Sure, they already gave the whole episode away in the teasers, but I have to hope they saved something in reserve.
  • "Reba" at 9:00 p.m. on WB (1080i). Reba has a date. We've waited a few years for this.
  • "Living with Fran"
at 9:30 p.m. on WB (1080i). Rachel Hunter guest stars and we see if she's still smarting from "Dancing with the Stars."
  • "Inconceivable" at 10:00 p.m. on NBC
(1080i). "ER" just stresses me out, so hopefully this is as good, but a little more low-key.

Here are some other HDTV programs showing on selected networks today. All times are Eastern:

ABC: Oh-fer-two-in-a-row. Not a good showing on this important week.

CBS: Ghost Whisperer (8:00 p.m.), Threshold (9 p.m.), NUMB3RS (10 p.m.), The Late Show with David Letterman (11:35 p.m.)

NBC: Inconceivable (10 p.m.),
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (11:35 p.m.), Conan O'Brien (12:37 p.m.)

Fox: Bernie Mac (8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.), Killer Instinct (9 p.m.)

WB: What I Like About You (8 p.m.), Twins (8:30 p.m.), Reba (9 p.m.), Living With Fran (9:30 p.m.)

UPN: They're watching SD with the ABC folks.
