Bluetooth headsets decrease cellphone rage?
Well, cellphones may still be
dangerous (jury, as ever, is still out), but here's a story about how Bluetooth might potentially make them less dangerous. Apparently, folks are reporting that using a Bluetooth headset to talk on their cellies in public subjects them to far less "cellphone rage"
(in which people get incensed that you're chatting it up in their vicinity) than when they talk on an actual handset.
The theory goes that people who were made angry before now either assume that you may just be talking to the people around you, or — they assume you're a crazy person talking to yourself, and they just want to avoid you instead of yelling at you. And here we were all this time underestimating the benefits to be reaped from appearing insane.
