HP releases hx2190, hx2490, and hx2790 handhelds
Upping the ante in the hx2000 line, HP rolled out these three new handhelds in addition to the rx1950
today. The hx2190, hx2490, and hx2790 update the hx2110, hx2410 and hx2750, respectively, all exhibiting some small hardware changes beyond the change of OS to Windows Mobile 5.0. The low-end hx2190 has got Intel 312 MHz inside, 64MB
RAM/128MB ROM, Bluetooth, IR, CF/SD slots, and a 3.5-inch TFT QVGA screen. The hx2490 hums along with a 520 MHz processor, 64MB RAM/128MB ROM, Bluetooth and WiFi, CF/SD slots, and a 3.5-inch TFT. The hx2790 is the high-end model of the bunch, beefed up to a 624 MHz processor, 64MB RAM/192MB ROM, Bluetooth and WiFi, IR, CF/SD slots, and the 3.5-inch TFT display. Pricing for the three is coming in at $349, $399, and $499 on up the line.
