JVC GY-HD100 reviewed
Personal Tech Pipeline has a look at JVC's GY-HD100,
their sweet, compact high-definition camcorder. They find a whole bunch to like about this unit — easy to use,
simultaneous recording to hard drive and tape (great for instant backup), light enough to carry around and use all day,
full-sized XLR inputs, and the ability to record the camera settings to SD card and transfer them to another camera
(JVC only, but could still potentially save loads of time). What they didn't like was that some of the switches were too small, as if designed for tiny hands, as well as being fragile enough to feel prone to breaking. Still, the image quality is superb, and for the price, if you need to record in HD on a budget, it's hard to argue with this camera.
