Maybe RIM might possibly announce the 8700? Or something?
You know what they say about not being able to keep a good man down—guess RIM's hoping the same thing must apply to them this week. Despite their continued lingering mounting legal troubles with the likes of
NTP (and now
Eatoni), it's nice to know that maybe, just maybe they'd spring back from their apparent self-imposed moratorium on creating new devices and bust their EV-DO-enabled
BlackBerry 8700 this week at CTIA. Of course they didn't announce an announcement, but RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie did do a bit of talking about "'substantive'
architectural-design changes" and "exciting partnership" announcements (like, um,
Palm and Microsoft?) they've got coming up. Basically, we're not going to hold our breaths for RIM this week, but here's to hoping.
