Sept. 27: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching:
Keeping with the underwater theme that Matt started on his last post, I'm going to sit back and watch "Blue Realm: Tentacles" on Discovery HD at 7 p.m. tonight. Discovery is known for their impressive looking high-def productions so I expect this program to knock my socks off.
Tonight's show covers all things with tentacles; squid, octopi and more. If you think the underwater scenes of "SpongeBob SquarePants" are impressive, you might want to watch this. Then again, that Patrick sure is funny...

By the way, why was ABC late to the airwaves with their "Commander-in-Chief" premiere in HD? It's on tonight at 9 p.m. if you're interested, but where was ABC last week?

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.

Here are some other HDTV programs showing on selected networks today. All times are Eastern:

ABC: According to Jim [one hour tonight] (8 p.m.), Commander-in-Chief (9 p.m.), Boston Legal (10 p.m.)
