Toshiba to ship Gigashot V10
Toshiba first announced its Gigashot hard-drive based camcorder
back at CES, and it looks like the company has finally gotten around to shipping something, in the form of the 4GB Gigashot V10, which will hit Japanese stores in October. The camera will offer a 2-inch LCD, 5 megapixel still shots and 5x optical zoom, for about $530. Of course, Toshiba will have to up those specs pretty quickly — especially on the storage side — if it wants to compete with JVC, which already has 30GB
Everios on the market, and with Panasonic, which is attempting to carve out a chunk of this market with its SD-based camcorders.
