BenQ's DC X600, C800 and C500 compact cameras
BenQ is hitting us with some
tinycams today; first off we have the DC X600, which they claim is the world's smallest 6 megapixel camera at 1.9cm (0.74-inches) thick. They managed to squeeze the rest of a camera in there with the obligatory 3x zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD, and 30fps VGA video capabilities.
Their 8 megapixel DC C800 doesn't really hold any surprises and actually has a smaller screen than the tiny DC X600.
Finally, the DC C500 is low-end 5 megapixel shooter that they claim is the world's lightest available with a fixed-focus lens. It's only got a 1.7-inch LCD and we're not sure we'd be bragging about the fixed-focus, but we guess whatever floats BenQ's boat. There's no word on pricing yet, but the DC C500 will be out this October and the X600 and C800 will follow in November.
