Sept. 29: What's on HDTV today


What we're watching:
We're almost done with our "24" DVDs here at home, so it's a good time to pick up a new espionage show in HD. Looks like it's the season premiere of Alias for me at 8 p.m. on ABC in 720p! You can bet we'll hop over to CBS for "CSI" at 9:00 too.

These types of shows are made for high-def with their numerous dark scenes and action sequences. Of course, you have to own a set that displays the dark shadows well for the full effect; a reason I've stuck with a CRT
set for some time.
