Cable HDTV direct to your Media Center PC? not yet

But of course the real question, who is to blame for the current situation. The cable providers who won't allow CableCard support in your PC? Or Microsoft for not giving up some of their potential profits by giving the cable companies the security they want? Maybe it's the TV tuner manufacturers for not pushing harder to get their products certified.

Ed Bott and Thomas Hawk have very differing opinions on the subject, but while everyone works that out, my cable HDTV/DVR box hooked to my PC is getting the job done.

What do you think of the situation after reading both articles, and/or how are you getting around it?
