Verizon signs more networks for FiOS TV
Fee,
fi, fo, fum, we smell another FiOS deal. Verizon is making deals like mad to bulk up their network lineup for the FiOS TV offering now under test. Today Verizon lined up five networks under W.C Fields
E.W. Scripps: HGTV, Food Network, DIY, GAC and Fine Living. I'm a fan of Great American Country (GAC), which is a nice alternative to The Nashville Network (TNN). Then again, I'm a really a southerner trapped in a Philadelphian's body.
We heard last month that Verizon is looking to have something like a 330-channel lineup and we were skeptical. We're starting to rethink our position as Verizon continues to wheel and deal. Oh, before I forget the HD bit of the story: HGTV-HD and Food Network-HD are part of the deal too. Haven't heard of them yet? That's because they launch in 2006, so stay tuned.
