HACKmyth MythTV and home automation PC
BuLogics has taken all the fun hassle out of setting up a
MythTV box for yourself and have even added some home automation to the mix. They've got some pretty blah specs on the boxes: 512MB of RAM and a 80GB hard drive on the low-end, 300GB HD and DVD burning for the "Extreme" edition, but the main story here on the HACKmyth (Home Automation Control Kit for MythTV) is the home automation via integration with included Z-Wave wireless control modules
— they throw in a receiver and either one or two lamp control modules depending on the model you purchase. All of this can be controlled from the comfort of your couch with the included remote, which gives us all one less reason to ever leave those soft, welcoming cushions. Too bad you won't be vegging out to any HDTV though, the capture card is SD only;
which makes us wonder why they're charging $1000-$1400 for these things, even with the home automation, when eMachines can score you a full on Windows Media Center PC for around half the price.
