New Power Macs and PowerBooks next week instead of a new video iPod?

Ok, so maybe Apple won't be announcing a
video iPod a week from today —
they're not exactly contradicting AppleInsider's report yesterday that Apple had already begun production on a video iPod and was set to announce them as early as next week, but ThinkSecret says that Apple is going to unveil new Power Macs and PowerBooks at the big media event they have scheduled for next week. Doesn't mean that a video iPod isn't on the way — AppleInsider were careful to note that Apple
"could" announce a video iPod next week, not that they definitely were going to — but whatevs, we'll live. Now we're just wondering what Apple is going to do to try and convince everyone that they need to buy new Power Macs and PowerBooks; seems like most people we've talked to who are willing to drop $2,500 on a Power Mac are going to sit this next round out and just wait for the Intel-based versions they'll be introducing next year.
