70% of all TVs sold in 2010 to be HD

Jupiter Research just released a study stating that in 2010, 70% of all TVs sold will be HD. They state that over the next few years' consumers are going to be come more interested in the benefits of high-def as more content becomes available. Right now, the US is running 21% of all TVs sold are high definition and only 15% of all of US have one. But by 2010, 63% of US households are going to have one.

This study seems to be on the right track. Not everyone can justify spending extra on a HD set especially if they are buy a 32-inch or smaller set. There were a ton of new network premiers this year and the price of the service has dropped. We are on the cusp of HD gaming that will lure in a lot of households via younger gamers. High definition is the future; more and more people are realizing this and are deciding to make the jump.
