LG, Thompson selected to develop digital-to-analog convertors

 
They may not know when
the digital conversion will be happening, but the US government knows who will be enabling all those old analog TV's to receive digital broadcasts. JoongAng Daily is reporting that the two largest broadcast associations in the states have selected LG Electronics and France's Thomson Group to develop the converters for people unable to upgrade to digital TV's in time.

We reported earlier that LG was showing off their technology to lawmakers, and this is an important milestone on the way to making the conversion actually happen.
