LG.Philips posted loss in profits
First, it was Pioneer with their first bad quarter in more then a decade. Now, it's LG.Philips with their flat panel division announcing a 22% decline in profits. They're blaming the loss on lower prices (I like lower prices) and oversupply of LCDs.
We've been saying this for weeks.
There are way too many LCDs, especially in the larger size. LCDs just can't compete with cheaper plasmas that have a better picture. Plus, with LG.Philips pushing to standardize LCDs at the 37-inch size and plasmas are 42-inches, why would you spend more for less?
