Scan your taxi and feel safer

Seoul is about to get a "mobile taxi cop service" due to an increase in taxi related crimes against passengers. Oh man, we didn't realize that those 5-inches of bullet-proof glass inside New York taxis are to protect us from the driver! Each taxi will have a unique
cellphone readable barcode inside and outside the cab. The code is stored on the phone which can then be sent to
"friends or family" (er...why not the po-po?). Civil liberties not withstanding,
shouldn't the barcode be on the driver or is there something particularly evil about Seoul's taxis we should be aware of? Oh alright, we'll hold back  on the snarkyness until the details are released in November. Hell, we'll take two if this makes those desperate, late-night London minicab rides a bit more chilled.
