Blu-ray next month!?!?!?

 
Yeah.  According to this article, computer parts manufacturer AOpen is preparing to release Blu-ray players in the Middle East next month. Oddly, the article is dated the 6th and yet I hadn't seen any other mention of it until today, but a senior director from the company is quoted as confirming the release date. They do note however that these drives will command a rather significant premium until they are available in significant quantities. More than that, Blu-ray media may not be available at that time, and if it is, will probably cost a pretty penny as well.

This is well ahead of the projected release schedule for either Blu-ray or HD-DVD, is this an only in Dubai special, or can US HDTV owners expect candy cane wishes and 1080i dreams of their DVD's this Christmas?
