Engadget gets some inside Samsung scoop
Engadget caught up with David Steel recently and this is a must read for any high-def addicts. David is the VP of Marketing for Samsung's Digital Media Business, so he's chock-full o' HDTV goodness. The interview tackles some questions on OLED high-def sets, the ongoing
Blu-Ray and HD-DVD war (Samsung is on the Blu-Team), and LCD production plans.
I won't spoil the interview for you, but I will point out that Samsung's commitment to Blu-Ray seems to be wavering ever so slightly.
As I read the comments, there are some open possibilities to a dual-format and it really seems dependent on the content providers.
Often times, the technology forces content providers down a certain decision path and away they go. With this format battle it appears that the technology providers have to sit on the sidelines and follow the lead of Hollywood.
