Oct 18: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching
:
I'm going to exercise my "outdoor gene" tonight and watch a triple-play on Rush-HD,
one of the VOOM channels in 1080i. Rush has tons of extreme sports and outdoor activity programming; perfect content for high-definition. Of course, I'll be a couch-potato for tonights intense activities, but I'm sure I'll burn a few calories just by watching.

My night kicks off at 8 p.m. with panoramic views of Asia on "Kayaking China." I'll be paddling my chips in my salsa as folks kayak up and down rivers in China. At 9 p.m., we shift over to Trinity National Forest for some bungee-jumping in "Boing." I wonder if I can attach a giant rubber band to the beer fridge; I won't miss any HD programming then...hmmm....

My exhausting activities wrap up at 10 p.m. with "Extreme Rush" for a little sky-surfing and rock climbing in Nevada. By this time I will have eaten enough that I'll have to watch from the sidelines...and hope I don't get sick from the heights!

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.

Here are some other HDTV programs showing on selected networks today. All times are Eastern:
