CCD defects hit Kyocera digicams
Well, it looks like our prediction that no brand of digital cameras would be safe from the CCD plague is — unfortunately — looking more accurate. The latest brand to plead guilty: Kyocera, which lists its Contax TVS Digital, Finecam S5R, Finecam S5, and Finecam S3L models as being subject to the defect. Of course, since Kyocera doesn't even make digicams anymore, and the affected models are long-discontinued, good luck getting service if you're stuck with one of them. (And, yes, we really can't get enough of that trippy LCD image above — though we're glad it's not our camera displaying it. Yet.)
