Oct 20: What's on HDTV today


What we're watching

Nothing good on tonight, so I'm popping an HD-DVD movie in for the evening. Nah, we're just kidding, but we made you look, no? Anyway, it's a good night for New York hockey fans; or at least half of them. HDNet drops the puck at 7 p.m. in 1080i for the Rangers – Islanders matchup. My prediction: New York will win.

I'll also be switching over to TNT-HD for "Jerry Maguire" at 8 p.m. in 1080i. Ok, it wasn't a great flick,
but it's one of the few times I can get over my misery as an Arizona Cardinals fan. Short of a playoff win in the 1940's and another in the late 1990's, my beloved birds have basically blundered their way through the NFL until this movie. Hey, don't knock the pick: you were the ones who said football looked best in HD, right? Logic dictates that a football
movie
should be twice as good!
