Samsung introduces the i300
There's most definitely nothing new about
Samsung's i300 in the sense that we've known about it for a while, played around with it numerous times, seen it demoed, etc. But what is new here is Samsung's official introduction of the i300 (SPH-V7900) into the marketplace (in Korean, thanks a lot, guys); we were hearing from the Windows Mobile guys that the device was actually still undergoing design changes and was subsequently made even thinner, so it sounds like they wrapped things up on the phone and are getting it out the door—first in UK, then Europe, then who knows where (it's apparently supposed to debut for €650, or about $780 US). Oh, for those not in the know, the tri-band 3GB Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth, MicroSD, plays back WMA, MP3, AAC and WAV and has that sweet, sweet jog-wheel. So in our best Dundee voice, we submit unto you Motorola:
You call that a musicphone? This is a musicphone.
