The tale of the monstrous Xbox power supply

The size of the Xbox 360's power supply has been a very controversial issue ever since the
Xbox 360 kid. His report that the 360 had a brick-like external power supply drove people nuts in search of a picture. When pictures turned up, people literally couldn't believe how big it was despite overwhelming evidence.

Claims that the brick PSU were part of the development kit (and not retail) were floated around. We even posted a pic of another — smaller — power supply in the vicinity of an Xbox 360 stand in Wal-Mart, which unfortunately (as we now know) is not the Xbox 360 power supply.

Now we've recieved another shot of the
brick power supply
connected to an Xbox 360. This time we're pretty much assured it's a retail model since it's connected to an Xbox 360 in the display case, in a Wal-Mart. Bummer.
