NEC's new LaVie T with HD tuner and SoundVu

NEC rolled out their new LaVie T laptop which features hardware-based MPEG-2 real-time encoding/decoding, HD teevee tuner, video recording, SoundVu
(the screen is the speaker) technology, dual-layer DVD±R, 160GB HDD, 512MB RAM, and the 1.73 GHz Pentium M 740. What we don't get, though, is why they opted for the 15-inch 1280 x 800 (WXGA) screen when they already pump
2048 x 1536 pixels out the G? No worries though 'cause it won't be available outside of Japan.
